Yongnuo 50mm f/1.4N E (Nikon)

Yongnuo 50mm f/1.4N E (Nikon)

Yongnuo continues to expand its lens range and this time offers us a 50mm f/1.4 Nikon with a F-mount.

Not much new on the data sheet. It looks like most of the Yongnuo lenses.

This is an auto-focusing lens with a built-in electromagnetic aperture that support the usual shooting modes (M/Av/Tv/P/B).

The large f/1.4 aperture is the maximum aperture to date on a Yongnuo product (this is the second f/1.4 lens after the YN50mm F/1.4C (Canon)).

The lens support Live View Focusing (Lv). Yongnuo says that the lens can focus from special angles, or focus precisely from the broadened view on the display screen. I personally don’t understand how this is different from other lenses. If you know what it means, please let a comment below.

Metal mount, gold-plated contacts, focus distance indicator, mode AF (auto focus) and MF (manual focus), multilayer coating to increase light transmittance and control backlight ghost image and glare.

I thought Yongnuo had abandoned the USB ports on their last lenses, but this is not the case for this 50mm f/1.4 Nikon E. It will therefore be possible to update the firmware yourself. Check the firmware page on the YongnuoRumors website to make sure you don’t miss any updates.

Let’s see how this new lens looks like:

The firsts official pictures taken with the new 50mm f/1.4N E are shown below (I apologize for the low resolution) :

This seems to be a good deal for less than 200 bucks. There is not much options available for Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lenses:

The 50mm f/1.4N E lens from Yongnuo should be available shortly (2018) at an unknown price but certainly close to the Canon mount (S180-S200)
